When to go
Dry Seasons (June to August and December to February)
Ideal for gorilla trekking as trails are drier and easier to hike. Cooler, drier weather enhances comfort and photography. Best time for other safari activities like wildlife viewing and birdwatching. Peak tourist season, so expect higher prices and more visitors.
Wet Seasons (March to May and September to November)
Rainforest is lush and green, with more flowers and birds. Gorillas are easier to find as they stay closer due to abundant food. Lower prices and fewer tourists. Be prepared for rain, mud, and humidity. Some roads may be impassable, and certain lodges may close.
