    Day 1: Nairobi
  • Upon arrival into Nairobi, clients will be met and transferred to the Eka hotel.
  • Afternoon at leisure.
  • Overnight at the Eka Hotel in a superior room on a bed and breakfast basis.
  • (Check-in time is 1400hrs approx. and will be adhered to. Clients arriving in the middle of the night must book a night as they will not be permitted to wait in the hotel lobby check-in at 1400hrs.)

  • Day 2: Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve
  • Leaving Nairobi after breakfast, you travel towards Kenya's fertile highlands and head down the rift escarpment on the road built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II.
  • On the way spot the charming chapel built at the foot of the escarpment.
  • Pass the impressive Longonot earth satellite station as you head across the valley to Narok; continue your travels across acres of wheat and barley, before reaching the Masai Mara in time for lunch.
  • Following lunch set off on your first game drive, returning to the lodge as the sun sets.
  • Keekorok Game Lodge was opened in 1965 and lies at the southern end of Masai Mara National Reserve, approximately 280 kilometers from Nairobi.
  • It is situated in the direct path of the annual migration and was the first lodge to be built in the Mara.
  • At the height of the migration, Keekorok is surrounded by a swarming mass of animals and there is hardly a need to go on a game drive.
  • Keekorok's charm lies in the liberal use of local building materials.
  • Sandstone, cedar wood, and other indigenous materials are used in all rooms and public areas.
  • In front of the lodge, there is a 300m elevated walkway that meanders through a small riverine forest.

  • Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast, travel across the 'breadbasket' of Kenya, where acres of wheat and barley litter the landscape as you head north to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand.
  • Now, travel across the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley to Mai-Mahiu, before arriving at Lake Naivasha around midday.
  • Following lunch and a siesta, depart on an afternoon boat ride on Lake Naivasha, with the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

  • Day 5: Lake Naivasha - Amboseli National Park
  • Following breakfast, leaving Lake Naivasha behind, you continue towards Nairobi.
  • Meet your fellow travelers who join from Nairobi and then head southeast towards Amboseli arriving for a late lunch.
  • In the afternoon depart on an afternoon game drive returning as the sun set.
  • Please note for departures commencing on 16 July, 06 August, 13 August, 03 September, and 10 September the overnight in Amboseli will be at Ol Tukai Lodge, instead of Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge.
  • Set against the magnificent backdrop of Africa's highest mountain, the glittering Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge enjoys a uniquely privileged position at the heart of this world-famous national park.
  • Secluded within a grove of acacia trees, the lodge looks out over the golden savannah plains, with uninterrupted views of the mountain itself.
  • Close by are a series of emerald-green swamps, which are fed by the melting snows of Kilimanjaro.
  • As the only sources of water in the park, this attracts huge numbers of wallowing elephants, hippos, buffalos, and plains game.
  • Meanwhile, from the prehistoric site of Observation Hill, the sunset over Kilimanjaro is truly magnificent.

  • Day 6: Amboseli National Park - Tsavo West National Park
  • Following early breakfast, depart to Tsavo West arriving at your lodge for lunch.
  • The journey takes you east, across the spectacular Shetani lava flow, a reminder of the molten outpouring that spilled down the scenic slopes of the nearby Chyulu Hills over the last three centuries.
  • A zig-zagging road through scrub thorn and acacia leads you into Tsavo National Park, which together (East and West) form the largest of Kenya's parks.
  • Following lunch depart on an afternoon game drive, including a visit to Mzima Springs with its underwater viewing holes.
  • Return to the lodge as the sun sets.

  • Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge Superbly situated in the lee of Mount Kilimanjaro, and sheltered by the volcanic splendour of the Chyulu Hills, this classic stone-built lodge overlooks its own water hole, which is visited daily by elephants, buffalos, and a wide variety of plains game.
  • One of the first lodges ever to be built in a national park, the lodge is cool, tranquil, and hushed for optimum game viewing.
  • It is also ideally placed for visits to all the park's prime attractions.
  • Faced in volcanic stone and utilizing the natural rocky outcrops of a valley known as 'the place of the young rhino', from which it takes its name, the lodge features a thatched central dining area, with a viewing terrace-looking directly down on to the waterhole.
  • All the spacious en-suite rooms have their own verandas, some overlooking the waterhole, some the Chyulu Hills, which are one of the world's youngest volcanic ranges.

  • After a short siesta, depart on an afternoon game drive, returning late afternoon.
  • Spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at leisure, viewing games from the lodge's underground hide or from the lodge balcony.
  • Overnight at Salt Lick Safari Lodge in a Parkview room on a full board basis Salt Lick Safari Lodge, Salt Lick Safari Lodge is in the heart of a private Wildlife Sanctuary which lies adjacent to Tsavo National Park,
  • Therefore, it plays an increasingly important role in the protection and conservation of Kenya's wildlife heritage.
  • The entire lodge is raised on stilts, providing 24-hour game viewing opportunities from any corner of the lodge.

    We may have to re-route the itinerary or accommodate similar lodges in case of non-availability.
    IMPORTANT
    Luggage Information Travellers should only bring soft-sided bags on safari. Luggage space in safari vehicles is limited. These bags should measure no more than the following: Height 66 centimetres, Length 42 centimetres, Width 28 centimetres. Soft-sided bags with wheels are permitted. If arriving and departing from the same city, bags can be stored in our offices for a one-time fee of $40.00 (per booking, not per bag or per person) to transfer and store the bags and reconnect them with the travelers for departure. On this safari, if clients are ending services in Mombasa, it is not possible to leave luggage in Nairobi. If clients need to transport excess luggage to Mombasa, our ground handler can assist in arranging a courier service for the transport of excess luggage to Mombasa (at a supplementary cost payable directly on the ground to the courier service). Approximate weight, dimensions, and number of pieces must be advised prior to departure to enable our Ground Handler to arrange with the courier and advise approximate costs.
    NOTE ON PARK FEES USED IN THESE RATES
    *Park and Reserve fees used in these rates are based on current information. Should there be increases in park and/or Reserve fees, these will be passed along for all existing and future bookings. The Masai Mara Reserve is considering implementing a per-day Community and Bed Levy Fee for all visitors. These fees have not been finalized, but are in the process of being implemented. The potential fees are indicated in the below costs and should be added to the per-person cost.
